Tip-Tops Take Tight Tilt, 4-3
|
Starting pitcher Harris Sutton pitched well enough to help the Brooklyn Tip-Tops beat the Kansas City Packers, 4-3. The win puts Brooklyn at 3-0.
Bobby Messenger broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the fifth with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Tip-Tops in front, 4-3. For the game, Messenger drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Sutton told the Brooklyn Citizen. "But we take nothing for granted."
