Tip-Tops Win at Kansas City, 7-5
|
The Brooklyn Tip-Tops picked up a win at Gordon and Koppel Field, taking down the Kansas City Packers, 7-5. Starting pitcher Harris Sutton was a big reason why. In 8.2 innings, Sutton surrendered 9 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed 5 runs. Carl Hiatt picked up the save, his 1st.
Ed Burns was vital part of the Brooklyn win. He was 2 for 4 with a triple and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fourth with one out, Burns hit a 2-run triple. It made the score 6-2, in favor of the Tip-Tops.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Burns told the Brooklyn Citizen.
The loss puts Kansas City at 14-9.
