Pepper Shut Out by Sutton, 3-0
|
It wasn't easy but Harris Sutton made it look that way.
Sutton silenced the Newark Pepper, 3-0, in a Brooklyn Tip-Tops triumph at Washington Park today. Despite the appearance of dominance, Sutton said later that he felt like he was struggling all game. He gave up 3 walks and 4 hits.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I made the decision to bear down and work through it," he said. "I made a few mistakes but it goes to show what you can do with grit and not much else."
For the year Sutton has compiled a 5-2 record with a 2.20 ERA.
