Blues Turn Away Pepper, 5-3
|
Buffalo Blues starter A. Humphrey was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Newark Pepper, 5-3. The Blues go to 14-21 with the win.
In the bottom of the third, third baseman Bert Niehoff hit a 2-run single to left. The single, which was hit off of Lindy Hiett, gave Buffalo a 4-0 lead.
"You can never predict what'll happen," Humphrey said. "That's why you play the game."
