Whales Deal Blues Painful Loss
|
The Chicago Whales picked up a win at Wrigley Field, knocking off the Buffalo Blues, 2-1. Starting pitcher L. Lewis was a big reason why. The win gives Chicago a season record of 27-13.
In the bottom of the ninth, Josh Devore had a chance to deal the knockout blow. And he did, punching a run-scoring triple to center off Buffalo pitcher Gene Krapp.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Devore told reporters after the game.
