The Kansas City Packers defeated the Chicago Whales, 6-4, in Federal League action at Gordon and Koppel Field. Kansas City pitcher Mark Higbee had a standout performance. The win puts Kansas City at 24-17 this season.

Higbee had a consequential at-bat in the bottom of the third for the Packers. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Kansas City trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run single.

"We had a good game plan," Higbee said, "and we were able to execute it."
