Brooklyn Beats Newark in Extra Innings
The Newark Pepper got a superb performance from pitcher Earl Moseley. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Brooklyn. The Tip-Tops won the game, 5-4. Moseley threw 10 innings allowing 5 runs. Brooklyn reliever Carl Hiatt got the win, raising his record to 2-2. Earl Moseley was tagged with the loss. K. Wilson earned the save for Brooklyn, his 1st of the year.

In the top of the 11th, third baseman Zinn Beck hit a run-scoring single to right. The single, which was hit off of Lindy Hiett, gave Brooklyn a 5-4 lead.

"This is a resilient bunch," said Brooklyn manager Alfonso Rosas.

The loss makes Newark 19-29.
