Rebels Improve to 31-23 with 8-3 Win
Pittsburgh beat Newark in a rain-soaked ballgame.

The Pittsburgh Rebels dumped the Newark Pepper, 8-3, in large part due to first baseman Mal Barry. On the day, Barry went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 runs for the Rebels. With the win, the Rebels sit at 31-23.

Ralph Young was 1 for 3 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI for Pittsburgh. In a tie game with one out in the bottom of the seventh, Young came through with a run-scoring walk. It put the Rebels in front, 4-3.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Pittsburgh manager Frank Collins.
