Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Pepper
|
The Newark Pepper scored a tight 4-3 win versus the Buffalo Blues at Arnold Park. Newark pitcher Harry Moran held his own in the contest. Newark reliever Lindy Hiett was credited with the win, to go to 3-6. Gene Krapp took the loss for Buffalo. Newark, at 25-33, occupies 7th place in the Federal League.
The most significant at-bat for Newark came with the bases empty in the bottom of the ninth. Pepper third baseman Ballplayer Baxter hit a triple to win the game.
"Now that's what I call an exciting game," said Pepper manager Jose Glassman.
