The Pittsburgh Rebels managed to get by the Brooklyn Tip-Tops, 4-3, at Washington Park. Pittsburgh pitcher Fred Trautman set himself apart with his performance. With the win, Pittsburgh raised its record to 34-27.

Ralph Young, the 26-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Young contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the third inning to put Pittsburgh up, 3-1.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Pittsburgh manager Frank Collins.
