Pepper Slip Past Brooklyn, 3-2
In a low-scoring affair between the Newark Pepper and the Brooklyn Tip-Tops, pitcher Ballplayer Strobel was the difference between victory and defeat. The Newark right-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 Pepper win. Newark reliever Earl Moseley picked up the win, upping his record to 4-13. Mike Prendergast was saddled with the loss. Lindy Hiett, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities.

The Pepper got a big at-bat from center fielder J. Robinson, who in the top of the tenth hit a run-scoring double. It was his 8th double of the season and put the Pepper on top, 3-2.

"This win should put a little bounce in our step," said Robinson.

The slumping Tip-Tops have dropped 9 in a row.
