Blues Lose, 6-4
|
The Pittsburgh Rebels grabbed a win, 6-4, over the Buffalo Blues at Federal League Park. Pittsburgh catcher Art Hoelskoetter was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. Pittsburgh pitcher Marc Hall got the win, upping his record to 9-5. A. Humphrey got the loss. Cy Barger notched his 4th save in 5 chances.
Joe H Kelly was a prime factor in the win for the Rebels. In the top of the fifth with two out, the 28-year old right fielder hit a run-scoring single. He was 2 for 5 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I was hoping to make good contact," said Kelly. "I wasn't trying to knock the snot out of it."
The victory gives Pittsburgh a record of 37-33.
