Terrapins Topple Tip-Tops, 9-5, as Mensor Shines

The Baltimore Terrapins bested the Brooklyn Tip-Tops, 9-5, at Washington Park. Ed Mensor was one of the standouts. He went 4 for 5 with 4 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Fred Lamlein was the winning pitcher. Over 8 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 10 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. The win hiked the Baltimore record to 41-35.
Fred Lamlein's at-bat in the top of the sixth inning was a big one for Baltimore. Coming to bat with no one out, runners on 2nd and 3rd and Baltimore trailing 4-3, the pitcher hit a run-scoring single.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Lamlein said after the game.
