Whales Get 6-1 Win Versus Brooklyn
|
The Chicago Whales defeated the Brooklyn Tip-Tops, 6-1, in Federal League action at Washington Park. Chicago pitcher L. Lewis had a standout performance. Lewis, now 8-13, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The first-place Whales have won 4 consecutive games.
The Whales got a big at-bat from center fielder Luke Collins, who in the top of the second hit a 2-run double. It was his 9th double of the season and put the Whales on top, 4-0.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Chicago manager Tim Van Noy.
