Packers Turn Away Terrapins, 6-5
Baltimore got a terrific performance from right fielder Guy Zinn, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kansas City Packers. Kansas City won the Gordon and Koppel Field contest, 6-5. Zinn went 3 for 5 with a triple and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs for the losing team. The winning pitcher was Ballplayer LeClaire. His record is now 13-10. The right-hander went 8.2 innings, allowing 5 runs on 14 hits for the Packers. Rip Hagerman notched his 1st save in 1 chances.

An important at-bat for the Packers came in the bottom of the fifth, when center fielder Duke Kenworthy stroked a solo home run. That made the score 6-2 in favor of Kansas City. For the day, Kenworthy was 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Kenworthy told the Kansas City Bulletin. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."

Today's win puts Kansas City at 48-51, while Baltimore falls to 54-45.
