Al Nixon had a critical at-bat with two out in the top of the sixth for Buffalo. He came through with a 2-run single to put Buffalo in front, 5-2.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Nixon told the Buffalo Bulletin.
