Terriers Bang Out 8-3 Win Versus Baltimore
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Baltimore Terrapins and St. Louis Terriers get after it.
The St. Louis Terriers picked up a win at Handlan's Park, taking down the Baltimore Terrapins, 8-3. Starting pitcher Clint Rogge was a big reason why. In 9 innings, Rogge surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 0. He allowed 3 runs.
In the bottom of the first, St. Louis left fielder Robert Middleton had a run-producing at-bat. Facing Baltimore hurler Fred Lamlein, Middleton drew a walk, driving in 1 run. That made the score 2-0, St. Louis. For the day, Middleton drew 2 walks in 4 plate appearances.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said St. Louis manager Troy Sinclair.
The win gives St. Louis a season record of 65-59.
