The Newark Pepper beat the Kansas City Packers, 7-4, at Arnold Park. The Pepper got a fine performance from center fielder J. Robinson, who was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. James Reams, credited with the win, is now 8-7. He allowed 4 runs on 12 hits in 9 innings. With the win, the Pepper improved to 60-62.

Making an impact for the home team was Hugh High. In the bottom of the seventh, the 27-year old left fielder had a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, Pepper.

"It was our day today," Robinson told the Newark Gazette. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
