The umbrellas came out during the Newark-Brooklyn contest at Arnold Park.

The Newark Pepper did just enough to secure a victory over the Brooklyn Tip-Tops, 5-4, at Arnold Park. Nobody did more than right fielder Jimmy Magee. Lindy Hiett earned his 3rd save in 4 chances.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Pepper surged ahead when Magee muscled his 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run off Carl Hiatt made it 5-3, Newark.

"I had some good swings out there," said Magee.

With the victory, the Pepper upped their record to 68-64.
