Packers Get Hard-Earned Win, Stop Rebels, 3-2
|
Starting pitcher Ballplayer LeClaire was a major factor in the 3-2 Kansas City Packers triumph over the Pittsburgh Rebels. Kansas City pitcher S. Lewis got the win, upping his record to 3-4. Albert Cummings got the loss. Rip Hagerman was credited with the save, his 2nd in 3 tries.
In the bottom of the eighth, Kansas City shortstop Ballplayer Conyngham hit a 2-run single to center field. The clutch hit made it, 3-2, Packers.
"Winning never gets dull," said Conyngham.
The Packers, at 67-68, have now won 4 straight.
