Chicago Blanks Tip-Tops, Keupper Wins
|
Ballplayer Keupper dominated the Brooklyn Tip-Tops with a brilliant 3-hit shutout in a Chicago Whales 5-0 triumph at Washington Park. The Chicago hurler fanned 2 and walked 4 in the game and was singled out for praise afterward by the opposing manager.
"He really kept us in check today," Tip-Tops skipper Alfonso Rosas said in his postgame comments. "Everything looked to be moving. Seemed like the pitch was right down the middle and it went over down and away. We took some pathetic swings."
To this point in the season Keupper has 17 wins and 14 losses and a 2.72 ERA.
