Hoffman Spectacular in 1-0 Win
|
The Buffalo Blues did little to support starter Guy Hoffman against the Brooklyn Tip-Tops, but it turned out he didn't need the help.
The right-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Tip-Tops, striking out 8 and surrendering 3 hits. The performance from Hoffman allowed Buffalo to escape with the 1-0 win despite an anemic offense.
"Nobody came to me and said 'Guy, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Hoffman told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."
For the year Hoffman has a 4-1 record with a 1.96 ERA in 4 starts.
