Newark Pepper starter Howard House was in fine form against the Baltimore Terrapins at Arnold Park, leading his team to a win, 7-1. House went 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 3, and struck out 7. His record improves to 20-13. With the victory, the Pepper upped their record to 74-72.
Newark took the lead in the bottom of the third on a big hit from Buck Thrasher. On a 2-2 splitter from Louis Loudermilk, Thrasher hit a bases-clearing double. That made it 3-0, Pepper. For the day, Thrasher was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs.
