Blues Stun Terriers, 10-6
|
The inspired effort of St. Louis center fielder Harry Sylvester was not enough to prevent a loss, 10-6, to the Buffalo Blues. Sylvester went 2 for 5 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. With the win, Buffalo upped its record to 81-70.
George Cochran chipped in for Buffalo, stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning. For the game, the third baseman went 1-5, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
Cochran said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
