Chicago starter Ballplayer Keupper pitched well against the Newark Pepper at Arnold Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. Chicago now has a record of 80-70 with the win.

In the top of the first, second baseman Leo Cooke hit a grand slam home run to right. The home run, which was hit off of Howard House, gave Chicago a 4-0 lead.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Keupper.
