Whales Not Competitive in 8-0 Loss to Kansas City
Sunday, August 16th, 1914
Roy Golden of the Kansas City Packers spun his magic on the Chicago Whales today. He blanked them 8-0 on 5 hits, registering 2 strikeouts and 6 walks.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Golden said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Kansas City skipper Ezequiel Navarro said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."
"Roy pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
This year Golden has compiled a 16-7 mark with a 2.87 ERA.
