Brooklyn Punchless in 8-0 Loss to Blues
Thursday, August 20th, 1914
Buffalo Blues pitcher Harry Delano blanked the Brooklyn Tip-Tops 8-0 at Washington Park today, tossing a 7-hitter while issuing no walks and collecting 2 strikeouts.
After his sharp shutout performance, he shared credit with the rest of the club.
"I was just locked in out there and some of that is due to having a catcher who has such a great feel for hitters," Delano said. "I couldn't do what I did without all the guys out there today."
To date this season, Delano has registered 31 starts, 16-14 won-lost mark, 2.52 ERA, 257 IP, 105 strikeouts and 52 walks. Opposing teams have hit .245 against him.
