The St. Louis Terriers posted a 4-0 shutout over the Chicago Whales today on the strength of a strong performance by Walt Doan. The Terriers pitcher held the Whales to 4 hits while walking 0 and fanning 3 in the route-going win.
"It feels good to be wearing a St. Louis Terriers uniform today," the right-hander said following the game.
Doan has made 6 starts so far this year and put up a 4-1 won-lost record with a 2.05 ERA. In 48.1 innings he has allowed 48 hits, walked 18 and struck out 21.
