With 11-6 Win, Indians Improve to 79-51
Chicago got a terrific game from third baseman John Knight. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Cleveland, 11-6. Knight was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Stan Dougan in relief. His record improves to 13-7. Scott Perry took the loss. Cleveland is now riding a 3-game win streak.

It could have been a different outcome for Cleveland, had it not been for Heinie Groh, the fan favorite . Groh contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Cleveland up, 8-6.

"This win gets us that much closer to where we want to be," Groh said in postgame remarks.
