Weilman Puts Spell on Cleveland
|
Philadelphia Athletics fans were pleased to see so many goose eggs up on the scoreboard as Carl Weilman blanked the Cleveland Indians, 4-0 at Shibe Park today. Weilman stopped them on 10 hits while walking 0 and striking out 3.
"Once he gets in a groove, he can be dynamite," Athletics skipper Dave Jackson said. "He was on top of his game in this one."
So far this year Weilman has compiled a 13-19 record with a 2.61 ERA.
