7-1 Loss Extends St. Louis Losing Streak
|
The Cleveland Indians picked up a win at Somers Park, taking down the St. Louis Browns, 7-1. Starting pitcher Doc Crandall was a big reason why. Crandall got the win, improving to 3-2. He allowed 7 hits and walked 1 over 9 innings. Crandall allowed 1 run. The loss has the Browns at 5-12.
With runs few and far between, the Indians had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Cleveland came in the bottom of the second inning, when third baseman Bill Bradley delivered a run-scoring single. The single was hit off Louis Drucke and made the score 1-0, Indians. Bradley was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
"I was hoping to make good contact," said Bradley. "I wasn't trying to knock the snot out of it."
