Rube Benton of the St. Louis Cardinals humiliated the Cincinnati Reds at Robison Field today, spinning a complete game shutout and holding the visitors to 7 hits.

"He stayed aggressive and his ball was really moving," said Cincinnati manager John Mullen, after the game.

Benton whiffed 6 and walked 1 in the 2-0 win.

"If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Benton said. "I was making good pitches the entire game."

On the season Benton has a 2-3 record with a 1.25 ERA.
