Indians Clip White Sox, 3-2
|
The Cleveland Indians got a stellar performance from pitcher Hub Perdue, who handcuffed the Chicago offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Somers Park. The White Sox fall to 9-15 and continue their lackluster start to the 1915 season.
Cleveland left fielder Tom A Long contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a changeup into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 18th hit of the season and put the Indians ahead, 3-1.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Perdue told the Cleveland Observer.
