Reds Post 2-0 Win Over St. Louis
Cincinnati pitcher Bill Hopper did his part in helping his team beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 2-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Hopper, now 2-8, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 1, walking 4, and allowing no runs. Herb Pennock closed it out for his 4th save.

It could have been a different outcome for Cincinnati, had it not been for Bill Hinchman, the 11-year veteran . Hinchman contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Cincinnati up, 2-0.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Hinchman.

The 5th-place Reds improved to 19-25.
