Cincinnati Punchless in 8-0 Loss to Cardinals
|
Today was Ben Henderson's turn in the rotation for the St. Louis Cardinals and he made the most of it, shutting out the Cincinnati Reds on 3 hits.
The 31-year-old right-hander led the Cardinals to an easy 8-0 victory, allowing 5 walks and tallying 4 strikeouts.
"I hope we miss him next time," Cincinnati manager John Mullen said. "Henderson certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
Henderson has a 3-5 season record so far. In 8 starts, he has fanned 35 batters in 68.1 innings with a 2.77 ERA.
