Braves, Schimpf Buzz Pirates, 2-0
|
Art Schimpf really had his stuff working at Forbes Field today. The Boston Braves hurler mystified the Pittsburgh Pirates and shut them out 2-0. Schimpf allowed a total of 4 hits in the ballgame and struck out 9.
"The shutout is nice but I'm just happy we won," Schimpf said with a smile after the game. "Coach can be a real bear when we lose."
This season Schimpf has registered 9 wins and 2 losses in 12 starts with a 1.48 ERA.
