Red Sox Win, 2-1, Versus Indians
|
Boston Red Sox starter Guy Morton was in the groove. He led his team to a win over the Cleveland Indians, 2-1. Morton went the distance for Boston. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. With the win, Boston pushed its record to 29-26.
An important at-bat for the Red Sox came in the bottom of the fifth, when first baseman Ed Konetchy stroked a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-0 in favor of Boston. For the day, Konetchy went 2 for 4 with a double.
"Good win for our guys," said Konetchy.
