Reds Prevail, 3-1, Over Pittsburgh
The Cincinnati Reds picked up a win at Redland Field, knocking off the Pittsburgh Pirates, 3-1. Starting pitcher Bill Hopper was a big reason why. The 7th-place Reds have a record of 28-36.

The Reds grabbed the lead in the bottom of the fourth. With no one out, Beals Becker, who is tied for 8th in the NL in home runs with 2, hit a 2-run home run off Tom Seaton, putting Cincinnati in front, 3-0. For Becker, it was his 2nd home run of the season.

Hopper told a Cincinnati Observer reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
