Carson Finds Groove in 2-1 Triumph
|
Al Carson never let the Cardinals get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his splitter, to pitch the Cubs to a win, 2-1. After today's action, Chicago sits at 32-34, while St. Louis falls to 39-28.
Carson pitched a complete game for Chicago. The 32-year-old right-hander was charged with 1 run on 5 hits. He struck out 3 during his 114-pitch performance.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said St. Louis skipper John Hartgraves.
