The Cleveland Indians topped the Boston Red Sox, 6-1, with third baseman Heinie Groh playing a big role. Groh was 2-3 with 2 doubles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Indians in the win. Doc Crandall, credited with the win, is now 17-9. He allowed 1 run on 9 hits in 9 innings. Cleveland now has a record of 52-35 with the win.
The Indians got a gift in the bottom of the third inning, when they were leading 1-0. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Heinie Zimmerman reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It made the score 2-0, Cleveland.
