Dougan Humbles Philadelphia, 1-0
|
In an outstanding mound performance, Cleveland Indians starter Stan Dougan fired a complete-game shutout against the Philadelphia Athletics at Somers Park today.
Dougan was the key to the Indians's 1-0 win. The 27-year-old right-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 6 hits and 1 walk he allowed.
"6 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout."
This year Dougan has a 11-6 record and a 2.81 ERA.
