Schimpf Goes Distance in 4-1 Win
|
The first-place Boston Braves picked up another win.
The Boston Braves picked up a win at Braves Field, knocking off the Chicago Cubs, 4-1. On the mound for Boston was right-hander Art Schimpf, who played a pivotal role in the win. Boston now has a record of 56-37 with the win.
Schimpf gave Boston a solid start. The right-hander, who is listed at 5' 10", 170 lbs, allowed 1 run on 2 hits over 9 innings.
