The Boston Braves grabbed a win, 9-5, over the Chicago Cubs at West Side Park. Boston third baseman Eusebio Gonzalez was 3-3 with a triple and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Flame Delhi got the win, improving to 15-11. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 6 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 5. Bunny C Hearn recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 1 for 1.
Ty Cobb broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the second with a run-scoring ground out. It put the Braves in front, 2-1. For the game, Cobb was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Gonzalez told the Boston Daily News.
