Browns Earn 7-3 Win Versus Boston
|
St. Louis Browns starter Bob Shawkey pitched a strong game against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park , leading the Browns to victory, 7-3. Shawkey, now 6-13, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs. The win has St. Louis at 43-68.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the seventh, with the game tied, Happy Felsch was at the plate when St. Louis scored 2 on an error. The miscue enabled the Browns to go in front, 5-3.
"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Felsch.
