Hit #2000 for Braves Cobb
|
What a day for Ty Cobb. The 28-year-old Boston center fielder reached the 2000-hit mark today and the Braves whipped the New York Giants 7-2.
Cobb told reporters, "It's good to finally get it. The closer you get to 2000, the harder it is to get there. Now the pressure is off and I can go back to just playing ball."
He went 3 for 4 in the game to reach the milestone.
In his career Cobb is hitting .330 with a total of 35 home runs.
