Red Sox Bridle Yankees, 4-2
|
The Boston Red Sox got a stellar performance from pitcher Bullet Joe Bush, who handcuffed the New York offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Fenway Park . Bush, now 16-6, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 1, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. Jake Northrop, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities.
New York threatened in the top of the third. Bobby Veach was up with runners on 1st and 2nd. He hit a single. Boston limited the damage, however, and went on to win.
The 'W' lifts Boston's record to 61-69.
