One Run Enough for Washington
Bill Hogg held the Philadelphia Athletics to 7 hits and fashioned a fine 1-0 shutout at Shibe Park today.

Speaking after the game, Washington Senators manager Zachery Marchese said "Hogg had everything going for him today."

He changed speeds effectively, stayed down, had a lot of movement," he said. "He was masterful."

Hogg rung up 2 strikeouts and surrendered 1 walk in the game.

"We couldn't get anything going. He certainly had our number," Philadelphia manager Dave Jackson told reporters.

Presently Hogg has a 16-8 mark in 29 starts with a 2.70 ERA. He has given up 203 hits in 250.1 innings, struck out 131 and issued 93 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .229 batting average against him.
