Fultz goes 3-for-4 in Athletics Win
|
The Washington Senators and Philadelphia Athletics were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Philadelphia Athletics topped the Washington Senators by the score of 8-4, with the largest share of the credit going to center fielder Dave Fultz. Fultz was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 4 runs for the Athletics. Carl Weilman picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-1. He struck out 3 in 9 innings.
Philadelphia shortstop Bobby Byrne made his contribution to the Athletics cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning. For the day, Byrne went 1 for 5.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Philadelphia skipper Dave Jackson.
Now 4-9, the Senators have not played well this season.
