Brooklyn Beats Chicago, 3-1
|
The Brooklyn Robins topped the Chicago Cubs, 3-1, in NL action at West Side Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Brooklyn pitcher Babe Ruth. With the victory, the Robins upped their record to 72-66.
The Robins got a big at-bat from center fielder Bill Bankston, who in the top of the sixth hit a run-scoring triple. It was his 8th triple of the season and put the Robins on top, 2-1.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Ruth.
