Johnson Dazzles in 5-1 Detroit Win
|
The Detroit Tigers went home winners at Fenway Park , thanks in large part to starter Walter Johnson. Johnson stifled the Boston Red Sox, enabling Detroit to grab the 5-1 win. With the victory, the Tigers upped their record to 82-62.
Johnson, who dominated for Detroit, earned the victory to move to 15-5. He was in control the whole game, scattering 5 hits over 9 innings, while striking out 4. Boston batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"Feels good to get the job done," Johnson said after the game.
